Three teams earn spring scholar-athlete honors
Three Sidney CSD teams were honored as scholar-athlete teams by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association for the spring sports season.

To be recognized as a team, 75 percent or more of the team members must be at or above 90 percent and the overall team GPA had to be at or above 90 percent.

The teams recognized were softball (93), girls track (92), and baseball (91).

Two Sidney CSD teams were honored as scholar-athlete teams by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association for the winter sports season.

Sidney senior Ariyahna Bernard was recently named the WCDO Athlete of the Month.

Forty-four individuals, as well as three teams, met the criteria for New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) scholar-athlete honors for the fall season.

The Sidney Central School football team received a sendoff on Friday afternoon as they headed to Syracuse for a Class D state semifinal against Maple Grove. 
Tennis team honors law enforcement image Tennis team honors law enforcement
The Sidney High tennis team honored law enforcement earlier this week with a ceremony before its first home match.

Law enforcement officers from the Sidney Police Department, New York State Police, and the Delaware County Sheriff's Office were present to be honored. Team members presented the individuals with shirts and bracelets.
 
What I learned from sitting on the bench ...
I wanted to thank my varsity high school lacrosse coach for sitting me on the bench most of my senior year. The lessons I learned from the bench are more valuable to me than anything I've learned through my Ivy League training or graduate school pursuits.
