District Goals

A collaborative team of teachers and administrators have spent time reviewing district data to determine our priorities as we embark on improving student achievement.  In an effort to clearly communicate our focus, district goals were written and shared with the staff and community.

District Goal #1

Student achievement will show progressive improvement across all grade levels, in all content areas.

District Goal #2

Stronger positive connections will be built among students, staff, parents, and community members.

Our Vision...

The Sidney Central School District is committed to promoting a stable and caring community which provides students with the means to attain academic excellence, to pursue dreams and goals, and to achieve success in an ever-changing world.

Our Mission...

Challenging students to achieve their greatest potential.

Sidney School Facilities Provide for Success

The District recently completed a building project that resulted in renovations to many areas of our campus. Each of the schools in the district has been renovated and upgraded to include additional space for students and staffing to interact with technology right in the classroom. New libraries, gymnasiums and specialized rooms are included. Each school has its own computer center and in-room computers connected to the internet for student research and educational reinforcement.

Other additions include a new six-lane pool as well as a lighted football/soccer stadium surrounded by an eight lane all-weather outdoor running track. The elementary school has a new playground for the students and a new, state-of-the-art transportation center which houses all of the district’s vehicles was completed in 2001. With the recent emphasis on safety in public buildings, the building project included accommodations for securing our schools to help keep our students safe.

Collaborations are in place with Syracuse University, the State University of New York College at Delhi and the Advance Placement program to provide course work through these programs at the Sidney High School campus. The most recent addition to exceptional program offerings is Project Lead the Way, a college approved pre-engineering program that carries college credit.
