Earth Science students take trip to Taughannock Falls

Earth Science students in grades 9 and 10 recently took a field trip to Taughannock Falls State Park.

During the trip, the students hiked the gorge, making several stops to study the geology and natural history of the area. The gorge offered a great way for students to apply and review geology concepts that were taught in the classroom, while also enjoying a beautiful day in the Finger Lakes region.

The hike ended at the base of Taughannock Falls, where students observed the 215-foot high waterfall. Taughannock is the tallest single-drop waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains.
