Recently, fifth graders taking robotics had the chance to conclude part of a robot-building lesson by having a demolition derby. 

This has become an annual tradition in Deb Vaughan’s robotics class. The students program and build the robots for the competition. Teams earned and lost points for various tasks during the competition, and each student on the team had a chance to operate and control the robot. 

 

Throughout the derby rounds, students worked on strategies and cheered one another on.
