Assemblies held to honor Veterans Day

On Friday, November 9, the Sidney Elementary School held assemblies to honor Veterans Day.

Two assemblies (grades UPK-2, and 3-6) were held in the high school auditorium.

Local veteran Dick Germond spoke to each assembly about the importance of Veterans Day, and at the end of the assemblies, sixth grader Ian Ayala played “taps” on the trumpet. 

In between, there were some songs, as well as poems and other items read about and for Veterans Day.
