Sidney Central School District's Kerrie Johnston and Great American's Kyle Westcott with the items available to give back to those in need.
The Sidney Great American and Sidney Central School have teamed up to help give back to families in need within the Sidney community.
The Great American has worked to offer backpacks to help feed the hungry in the community. For a $10 donation, patrons of the store can fund one backpack. They have the option to take it and give it to somebody themselves, or just donate and then Great American works with the Sidney CSD to make sure it goes to people in need.
“Thank you to the community for giving back,” said Kyle Westcott, President of Great American. “People have been very generous and willing to give to those in need.”
The backpack includes Best Yet products, including Toasted Oats cereal, peanut butter, grape jelly, and a pack of pudding.
“The outpouring of support for this program has been wonderful,” said Sidney Central School District Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction and Special Programs Kerrie Johnston. “Thank you to the community for giving back.”
