Sidney students take part in Arbor Day celebration
The annual Sidney Arbor Day celebration this past Friday included several students from Sidney Elementary School.

The program included two pieces performed by the elementary band, as well as recognizing students who took part in a poster contest. The Sidney Shade Tree Commission ran a contest for the fifth graders where students created posters aligning with the theme “trees for bees.”

The winner of the contest was Isabella West, who had her artwork represented on the posters advertising Sidney’s Arbor Day celebration.

At the end of the ceremony, a new tree was planted at Keith Clark Park, and students took their turn in shoveling dirt for the newly placed tree.
