Voters in the Sidney Central School District on Tuesday, May 15 approved the district’s proposed 2018-19 school budget of $28,362,879.
The budget had an increase of 5.92 percent, but an estimated tax levy of 0 percent.
The final vote was:
Yes: 130
No: 31
In a second proposition, voters also approved the purchase of school buses by the following count:
Yes: 132
No: 27
Voters also elected incumbents Nancy Parsons (137 votes) and Thomas Hoskins (136 votes) to Board of Education seats.
Finally, voters also approved the budget for the Sidney Memorial Public Library, passing it with a count of 135-25. Nancy Hornung (153 votes) and Ann Zieno (16 write-in votes) were elected to the board.
