The Sidney Central School District held a ceremony on Wednesday to honor the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2018.
Victoria Prouty earned valedictorian and Nikolas Petrus was named salutatorian.
High school Principal Eben Bullock welcomed those in attendance to recognize the high honor for the two students. School counselor Jody Gravelin spoke about each student. Teacher Chris Lissandrello spoke on behalf of Prouty, and Gravelin read words from teacher Christine Race about Petrus.
Each student was presented with a framed certificate, as well as an engraved paperweight.
The students will each speak during Sidney’s graduation ceremony on June 23.
