Sidney shares sectional title in badminton/table tennis

The Sidney Central School District earned co-champion honors at the Section Four badminton/table tennis championships, held recently at Bainbridge-Guilford. This is the seventh time in eight years Sidney has won or shared the sectional title.

Two teams earned championship, helping the Warriors to 19 points, which tied them with Maine-Endwell.
 
Justin McMillan and Matt Hoskins won the boys doubles championship in badminton.
 
Also placing in badminton categories were: Brandon Evans (fourth, boys singles), Julia Obeada (third, girls singles), and Mariah Gifford and Savannah Baldwin (second, girls doubles).
 
In table tennis, Mallory Stillman and Steven Smith won the mixed doubles championship.
 
Also placing in table tennis: Kaitlin Bookhout (second, girls singles), Garrett Beckwith and Corbin Constable (fourth, boys doubles), and Bryleigh Beauchat and Sarah Bessett (fourth, girls doubles).
 
Honorable mention went to Anthony Morris (boys singles table tennis), and Nick Paternoster and Lilly Hinkley (mixed doubles, badminton).
