Sidney CSD launches interactive menus
The Sidney Central School District has recently launched interactive menus, which will allow users to click on a food and be able to view the nutritional values, as well as other information.

The menus will be linked on the school website (go to food services, and look on the right side of the page under menus). The current menus will continue to be used where printed menus are needed, but for the website as well as companion mobile app, the new interactive menus will be used.

The new “My School Menus” mobile app is available in the iTunes app store and Google Play. The app allows access to nutritional information about the school meals on any device. The app and the interactive menus are designed to allow students, parents/guardians, and staff to make healthy choices.

Features of My School Menus:
  • Nutrient Data by Menu item - hovering over a menu item will show nutrient data
  • Build-a-Meal Nutrient Data - choose build-a-meal to get totals of individual nutrients for all items chosen by a student
  • Ingredient information for certain menu items
  • Complete list of all food choices available to students
  • Allergen identification - allergen filter to strikethrough foods containing the following allergens: wheat, soy, eggs, fish, peanuts, tree nuts, milk
  • Attribute identification - symbols identifying foods as GMO free, kosher, gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, locally grown, made from scratch
  • Translation to 180 languages using Google Translate
