Sidney elves visit Discovery Center
Students in Sidney Central School’s “Single Survival” class visited The Discovery Center in Binghamton on Friday, visiting with pre-kindergarten and pre-school classes.

It’s the second straight year the class made the trip to The Discovery Center.
Seventeen seniors, along with teachers Jon Yurka and Tom Rose, made the trip. Dressed as elves in training, the group read stories and did crafts with the kids.

The senior survival class helps students prepare for things they should know before graduating.

The focus with this trip was to work on character education and take students out of their normal comfort zones.

The Sidney students who made the trip were: Ashlyn Baker, Michael Baldwin, Makalia Bean, Connor Decker, Alik Evans, Kailyn Gravel, Tegan Howard, Haven Ives, Jolene Krom, Abigayle Marshall, Marina Mazzarella, Jenna McDonald, Hailey Newell, Cassie O’Hara, Shawnee Porter, Felix Serafini, and Kian Shaw.
