Five Sidney Central School students performed in Area All-State recently.
Thomas Frederick (tenor), Reece Cutting (bass), Emily Cooley (alto), Xiu Chen (soprano), and Christina Corgan (soprano) performed in the choruses.
Students reach Area All-State based upon scored they earned during the NYSSMA solos last May. The process is extremely competitive and the solos are difficult.
Sidney vocal music teacher Marjorie Pipes said she was very proud of the students’ achievement.
