Decker signs letter of intent
Sidney senior Connor Decker signed a letter of intent to play softball for Division II Mansfield University (Pennsylvania).
Decker signed the letter Wednesday afternoon in front of a large crowd of family, friends, and teammates in the high school library.
Mansfield, which plays in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, finished 12-24-1 in 2015.
Decker has been named to the NYSSCOGS all-state team in Class C the past two years, making it on the second team as a pitcher each time.
Last season, Decker led Sidney to a 15-3 finish and an appearance in the Section Four Class C semifinals. Sidney also beat Afton for the Midstate Athletic Conference championship, the first league title for the Warriors since 1993.
