This is a reminder from the Sidney Dollars for Scholars to the 2019 college-bound senior class that the time is now to start building your profile.
The scholarship application period runs from January 1, 2019 through February 27, 2019.
Step 1: Visit www.sidneyny.dollarsforscholars.org or www.scholarshipamerica.org to create your personal student profile. Once you have created your profile, you can add information and update it at any time. If you are waiting on test scores, transcripts or other information, you can add them when they are available. Include community service and school participation, extracurricular activities, and any achievements as they happen. You’ll be able to store and update things such as GPA and letters of recommendation throughout high school as well, which means you can use this profile in years to come.
Step 2: Use the resources available on your profile page to search out regional and national scholarships, as well as local opportunities.Across the nation, Scholarship America works with corporate and foundation partners to add new scholarships to the database. Any time your profile matches the criteria of a new scholarship, no matter who is giving it out or where it is from, you will be able to apply for it without filling out a new form. Using the ChapterNet profile provides a single source for a wide array of information that you need to know. As a student user of the system, you’ll be able to see exclusive volunteer and internship opportunities, and you’ll have free access to a wealth of financial aid and college success tools and resources.
Step 3: Remember the dates January 1-February 27 The Sidney Dollars for Scholars scholarship application period opens January 1, 2019 and ends February 27, 2019. Your profile information is what will match you to a scholarship. By filling out a student profile and searching and matching for scholarships, you will see any and all of our chapter’s awards that you qualify for and you can apply for them with just a couple of clicks.
