Sidney Students Against Destructive Decisions (SSADD) held its second annual field day at the high school in early June.
SSADD is a club at Sidney made up of students with the purpose of focusing on high-risk behaviors, decision-making skills, developing the adolescent mind, and improving the overall well-being of our students.
The high school students have worked on a mentoring program with elementary students before they enter high school. The students work together throughout the year in various extra-curricular activities.
The field day event is a big brother/sister, little brother/sister event, allowed the high school kids to mingle and work with fifth graders. A picnic led off the event, which had speakers and, finally, a field events tournament.
