Sidney Central School District News Article

School taxes reminder and update

The Sidney Central School District is sending out tax bills on August 31. Bills can start being paid on September 1.

Please note, Sidney CSD Board of Education recognizes the impact of COVID-19 on the local economy, combined with the loss of property within the local tax base. The district was able to levy a school tax for the 2021-22 school year with a 0 percent increase.

The district also would like to thank New York State for applying the foundation aid formula this spring in the manner in which it was designed to support local districts. This resulted in a substantial foundation aid increase for Sidney, which offset the need for a school tax levy increase.

“We are hopeful the foundation aid trend continued to be applied with its original intent,” Sidney CSD Superintendent Eben Bullock said. “As always, we thank the community for their continued support.”
