The Sidney Central School District recently named Maggie McNamara as its new Jr/Sr high school principal.

McNamara, who spent last year as the assistant principal, takes over for Lori Pourby, who accepted a position as assistant superintendent at Chenango Forks.

A graduate of SUNY Cortland, McNamara has been part of Sidney CSD since 2013, when she started as a physical education teacher. She completed her administrative degree and was named the assistant principal for 2020-21.

“There is no one better who knows the district,” Sidney CSD Superintendent Eben Bullock said. “She has a great rapport with students and staff and believes in the district.”
