Two students earn Biliteracy honor

Two Sidney CSD seniors earned the New York State Seal of Biliteracy this spring.

Sarabeth Clupper and Bryan Morales-Agustin each earned the award. Clupper earned it for demonstrating proficiency in English and American Sign Language, while Morales-Agustin demonstrated proficiency in English and Spanish.

Each student presented their culminating project to a panel of reviewers to achieve this honor. The Sidney CSD wants to thank Mary Ragner-Morris, Josh Gray, and Ina Ayala for their continued support of students in this process. Rajner-Morris serves as a mentor to the Sidney students and is a panelist for other candidates; and Gray and Ayala supported the students with their culminating projects.

Sidney can offer this opportunity to students as a member of the Broome-Tioga BOCES Regional Consortium. Since the 2019-20 school year, Sidney has had five candidates achieve this honor.
