Tenth graders present projects on human rights violations
Tenth graders at the Sidney Central School District recently took to the stage in the high school auditorium to present projects on human rights.
Students researched human rights violation events, such as the Holocaust, the Rwandan Genocide, and human trafficking. They wrote a paper on their individual topic, and then had to analyze the similarities and differences with their partner. They then created a claim about the causes and effects of the global and historical events.
Finally, they presented their collaboration on stage, using slides and an artifact to support their claims. This part was done in the auditorium, in front of their peers.
Following the presentations, which ran over three days with selected encore presentations on a fourth day, fellow students made comments and asked questions.
Four students – Anthony Morris, Megan Youngs, Ethan Moodley, and Meghan Worden – were selected by their peers to give encore presentations.
For a gallery of a few of the presentations, please see below.
