Student representatives for Cornell conference

Sidney CSD sophomores Kaitlin Bookhout and Katelyn Stosko will attend a conference at Cornell University on March 16.

The conference, sponsored by the Cornell University Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Graduate Women’s Group, is an outreach event intended to introduce high school girls from rural school districts to engineering and the sciences.

The main feature of the program will be a series of interactive laboratory modules designed to familiarize students with the key aspects of chemical engineering and pique their interest in technology and the sciences.

There will also be a program available for parents, which will include college admissions and career opportunity information.
Bookhout and Stosko were selected by the STEM faculty at SHS. The selection criteria included academic excellence and potential career goals.
