The Sidney Aquaponics program earned second place in the “Show Us Your System” video contest held by Nelson and Pade, Inc.

The second-place finish earned a $500 gift certificate, and because the school was one of the first five to submit its video, Sidney also won an extra $50 and t-shirts.

Nelson and Pade is the company behind the aquaponics system Sidney uses.

Edgerton High School (Wisconsin) won the first-place award of $1,000.

Four Sidney students and adviser Gina McManus were honored for this. McManus also noted Sidney teacher Josh Gray played an integral part in creating the video. The students were Nathan Margeson, Korinne Lewis, Philonena Chirco, and Carter Post.
