The Sidney Central School District recently received a $7,100 donation from the Unatego Science Foundation.

The donation will go to the flood project, as well as Sidney Students Against Destructive Decisions (SSADD).

The flood project money will go toward repair/refurbishing costs for the Sidney Center stream gauges, as well as battery replacement and equipment upkeep at other stations.

SSADD will be utilizing its share for a scholarship, leadership opportunities for the big/littles group, and a mental health awareness campaign.

This is the second year the Unatego Science Foundation has donated to the Sidney Central School District.

“We want to thank the Unatego Science Foundation for its generous donation,” Sidney CSD Superintendent Eben Bullock said. “This will greatly help the community with the ability to replace and upkeep needed gauges for the flood project, and it also helps our students deal with important issues.”
