Update on district emergency day usage

This is an update on the usage of the five budgeted emergency (snow) days and the potential for transitioning to remote learning days.

As of today (Sunday, February 21),  the Sidney Central School District has two snow (emergency) days remaining, plus the contingency holiday, which is scheduled for Friday, May 28. This winter has been hard with several weather events, and we still have several weeks of winter to go.

As a district, we also like to make sure we have one day saved in case of other emergencies. If that day is not used by the Memorial Day weekend, the contingent holiday set for May 28 will remain a holiday.

The next two emergency or snow days will be just like normal – students will not have to come to school or do schoolwork remotely. Any emergency or snow days following the use of the remaining two days, would turn into a remote learning day(s). This will allow us to make sure we do not have to take back days off our spring break recess in April.

If you have any questions, please contact the main office of your child(ren).
