Athletics update: January 29, 2021
UPDATE ON HIGH RISK SPORTS: New York State had previously announced that high-risk sports have been authorized by the state department of health. The Delaware County Health Department has provided a document to school districts in regard to guidelines that must be met in order for the high-risk sports to start. One of the guidelines is a county-wide seven-day average positivity rate that is under four percent. The current rate in the county is 5.9 percent.

Sidney Central School District, in collaboration with Section Four and the Midstate Athletic Conference, is preparing a plan that will allow high-risk sports once the seven-day average is below four percent. Please refer to the link below for the full county health department high-risk sports executive summary.

In the meantime, Sidney will continue with its open skills and conditioning program. The district will continue to communicate pertinent information regarding the status of high-risk sports.
