First graders take part in garden scavenger hunt
Students in Kelly Sanford’s first-grade class used their observation skills to identify a variety of species living and growing in the elementary garden.

The scavenger hunt they participated in included edible plants, such as mint and chives, as well as digging for worms and spotting butterflies.

After, students planted radish, beet, and lettuce seeds in their four foot by four foot garden plot, which they will tend to for the remainder of the year.
