Five winter teams earn scholar-athlete honors
Five Sidney Central School District teams were honored as scholar-athlete teams by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association for the winter sports season. 

To be recognized as a team, 75 percent or more of the team members must be at or above 90 percent and the overall team GPA had to be at or above 90 percent. 

The teams recognized were girls indoor track (94.2), girls basketball (93.5), girls bowling (91.4), boys basketball (90.9), and boys indoor track (90.8).

The teams listed below are in alphabetical order. Also, below are the Midstate Athletic Conference scholar-athletes, which is the top GPA on each team.
  • Girls indoor track (94.2): Madisyn DelReal, Baylee Jones, and Faith Wheeler. 
  • Girls basketball (93.5): Savannah Baldwin, Sarah Bessett, Kaitlin Bookhout, Mariah Gifford, Hannah Gray, Jordyn Lang, Emma Simmons, and Meghan Worden. 
  • Girls bowling (91.4): Hailey Hoag, Maegan Mazzarella, and Emma McKown.
  • Boys basketball (90.9): Michael Gravelin, Ryan Harris, Matthew Hoskins, and Liam Matthews. 
  • Boys indoor track (90.8): Jonathan McNamara and Schuyler Rowe.
