Fifth-grade rocket launch held
Earlier this week, the fifth grade held its annual rocket launch on the school’s football field. 

A tradition for more than 20 years, students learn all about the parts to the rocket, engine, launch system, and safety. They then have to build a stable model rocket on their own. 

Math is a large part of this lesson as well, as students learn to use clinometer to measure angles and use those angle degrees to find the altitude of their rocket. 

The rest of the school and parents are invited to come out to watch the launch. They cheer and do countdowns for each rocket and then watch the student run after their rocket to try and catch it.
