Sidney CSD senior Liam Matthews has been named the scholar-athlete of the year by the New York State High School Football Coaches Association.
Five players were selected for the honor – one in each class. Matthews was selected in Class C.
Matthews recently signed a letter of intent to play football this fall at Cornell University.
