Dean Howard has been named the Sidney Central School indoor track and field Athlete of the week.
Last Saturday, the indoor track and field team competed at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational. More than 40 other schools from around the state participated in this event.
Howard finished second in the 600 with a personal best time of 1:24.33, breaking the Sidney Central School record of 1:25.7, set by Karl Paranya in 1993. Howard had has a goal of breaking this record for the past two seasons and came close during his sophomore year, finishing in 1:25.78.
He also has hopes of breaking the 300 and 1000 school records later this year.
