The Sidney Central School Varsity Letter Club is doing its part to help a local man raise money for cancer research.

WCDO broadcaster Nate Lull, whose voice can be heard calling many area sports contests on the Sidney-based radio station, was given the opportunity to run for a team from the American Institute for Cancer Research at the 2016 London Marathon, which is being held in April.

Team AICR has asked Lull to raise $5,000 toward cancer research at their center, located in Washington D.C. All money raised remains in the United States.

Lull has a personal connection to the cause as his mother, Osceola Lull, passed away from cancer in 2012.

For the trip, Lull will be paying for his own travel and lodging expenses, but has been fundraising for his AICR goal.

Students collected donations at two home football games in lieu of admission charges. The club raised $500 to donate to Lull’s cause.
