The final Eat Fresh Taste Test at Sidney Elementary School on June 18 had a real local feel to it.

Students involved in the school gardening program took a trip to Heller’s Farm in Bainbridge on June 17. Members of the Green Thumb Growers Guild picked 44 quarts of strawberries and transported them back to the elementary school.

The following day, for the final Eat Fresh Taste Test – with the color red – the students helped serve the strawberries on top of ice cream in the cafeteria.

The Eat Fresh Taste Test has been a collaboration of Sidney CSD Food Services, the Green Thumb Growers Guild at Sidney Elementary, and Cornell Cooperative Extension.
