The Eat Fresh Taste Test, a healthy eating initiative at Sidney Elementary School, has had two successful months and will continue to run throughout the rest of the school year.

Each month, students have the opportunity to try fresh fruits and vegetables, based on color. The idea is to expose students to new foods, as well as encourage healthy eating and living.

Elementary teacher Josh Gray, who coordinates the Green Thumb Growers Guild at the elementary school, has worked with Kim Corcoran (Sidney CSD food services) and Amy Van Alstyne (Cornell Cooperative Extension) to shape the program.

The first two months featured yellow (February) and green (March).

The remaining dates are: April 30 (white), May 28 (blue), and June 18 (red).
