Sidney senior Bill Kozak was named first team All-State in Class C by the New York State Sportswriters Association.

Kozak, a five-year varsity player, earned All-State honors for the second time, following a fourth-team selection as a junior.

Kozak batted .587 to lead Sidney to a 16-6 record. He had a .644 on-base percentage, hitting 10 doubles, five triples and three home runs. Kozak also scored 31 runs and had 29 RBIs.

When pitching, Kozak finished 7-0 with a 1.246 ERA. He struck out 36 and walked 14 in 39 innings.

Kozak has signed to play for Division II Erskine College (South Carolina), where he’ll start his freshman year this fall.
