Voters in the Sidney Central School District approved the proposed 2025-26 budget of $34,902,348 by a vote of 147-43.

Three seats were up for the Board of Education. Incumbents Justin Poss (168 votes), Corbin Curley (163 votes), and Kerri Green (161 votes), were reelected.

“Thank you to the Sidney Central District community for your continued support of our school and students,” Sidney CSD Superintendent Eben Bullock said. “This budget will allow us to maintain our programs and we appreciate the confidence voters continue to show in our district, teachers, and students.”

Voters also passed a bus proposition, which allows the district to purchase two electric buses at a cost not to exceed $416,669 from the Capital Bus Reserve Fund. That proposition passed 115-75.

Finally, voters also approved the budget for the Sidney Memorial Public Library, passing it with a vote of 164-28. Two members were elected to the board in a three-person race. The final totals were Tom Gorman (152 votes), Colleen McKinney (101 votes), and Mary Denise McCabe-Edwards (64 votes). The library budget is mandated by law to be on the budget, but is not part of the district budget.
