Students present to Amphenol engineers

Seniors enrolled in Project Lead the Way’s Engineering Design and Development (EDD) course recently visited Amphenol to present their senior team projects as part of a capstone trade show.

With an audience of nearly 25 Amphenol engineers, students shared their research, scope of work, design, and mock-ups to an engineering problem. After students presented test results, Amphenol engineers asked questions about their processes and findings. The Sidney seniors answered the questions using the knowledge they have built, and demonstrated an exemplary understanding of their work and the engineering process.

Following the trade show, students and engineers sat down with one another for lunch and discussed the experience. Students also shared their future plans for college and thanked their Amphenol engineering mentors for professional guidance throughout the process.

Jaret Paul, the Director of Engineering at Amphenol Aerospace Operations, worked with Sidney teachers to create this opportunity. After the event, he told faculty that it was a “fantastic experience,” and that Amphenol would be “more than happy to support similar events in the future.”

Sidney CSD would like to give special thanks to the following mentors:

  • Jaret Paul (worked with Carson Strauss and Aidan Moodley)

  • Rick Barnes and Chris Love (worked with Muhammad Bhatti, Aiden Robinson, and Brodie Kehoe)

  • Brennen Levis (worked with Tanner Alger, Alex Restaino, and Travis Weeden)
