The Sidney Central School District honored its valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2025 earlier this week.
The valedictorian is Camille Bagley, and the salutatorian is Aidan Moodley. They were each presented with a certificate and gift during the celebration event. Each student is scheduled to speak at graduation, which is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28 at the District Transportation Center.
During the celebration, Jr/Sr High School Principal Maggie McNamara and Assistant Principal Katie Rogan spoke about each student. Their words are below.
Camille Bagley
Words from Maggie McNamara:
It is my absolute honor and privilege to recognize an exceptional student—the Valedictorian of the Class of 2025, Camille Bagley.
Camille is a standout in every sense of the word. Academically, she has taken on the most rigorous courses available at Sidney High School and has done so with drive, discipline, and a true love of learning. Her efforts have earned her the distinction of being ranked first in her class, a testament to her commitment and intellectual ability. She is highly motivated—always pushing herself to do her best while remaining respectful, humble, and kind.
But Camille’s excellence extends far beyond the classroom. She is a talented musician, deeply involved in our music program, with a long list of school performances and recognition, including participation in the Hartwick Honor Band. She is also a dedicated student-athlete, known for her work ethic, sportsmanship, and leadership.
Her leadership shines through in many ways. Camille serves as the treasurer of both the Senior class and the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and is the vice president of the National Honor Society. She leads not by words alone, but by consistently modeling integrity, responsibility, and kindness. She has also shown a commitment to our community, volunteering countless hours at school-sponsored and local events.
Camille’s aspirations are as impressive as her achievements. She plans to attend Quinnipiac University to pursue a career as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. There is no doubt that she will meet that goal with the same determination and excellence she has shown throughout high school. Her strong work ethic, thoughtful nature, and genuine care for others will undoubtedly carry her far in life.
Camille, your achievements reflect years of hard work, quiet confidence, and unwavering dedication. You’ve earned every bit of success through your own efforts and with the support of a loving and encouraging family. On behalf of the Sidney Central School District, we are so proud of you and all that you have accomplished.
Congratulations, Camille—we cannot wait to see the incredible impact you’ll have in the future.
Aidan Moodley
Words from Katie Rogan:
It is a great privilege to recognize a student whose achievements, leadership, and character have left a lasting mark on our school community—Aidan Moodley.
Aidan is the kind of student who reminds us what is possible when talent meets drive, when curiosity is paired with commitment, and when leadership is fueled by a deep sense of purpose. His accomplishments span a wide range of academic, extracurricular, and service endeavors—and in every one of them, Aidan has gone above and beyond.
Academically, Aidan has consistently demonstrated a love for learning and a commitment to excellence. We are especially proud to honor him as the Salutatorian of the Class of 2025, a reflection of his exceptional dedication and outstanding achievement throughout his high school journey. One of his most impressive academic milestones was earning a perfect score of 100 on the Chemistry Regents Exam. Aidan has also taken on one of the most demanding schedules in our school, including multiple college-level courses and a capstone engineering course, which he attended every other day just to make it fit into his packed academic schedule. Few students take on that kind of challenge, and even fewer thrive the way Aidan has.
Outside of the classroom, Aidan is an active participant in our school community, where he is a true leader. He has served as a key member of the Executive Student Council, and has participated in the Sidney music and athletic programs throughout all of high school. He has also contributed to real-world scientific research through his work at the SUNY Oneonta Biological Field Station, where he conducted environmental research on chlorophyll monitoring and water quality in the Upper Susquehanna River—research that will soon be published.
Aidan’s resume is impressive, but it’s who he is as a person that truly sets him apart. He is thoughtful, mature, and driven.
Aidan plans to attend Cornell University in the fall, where he will study Environmental Engineering. There is no doubt that he will continue to make a difference in the world, just as he has made a difference here at Sidney.
Congratulations, Aidan. We can’t wait to see all that you accomplish in the years ahead.
