Voters in the Sidney Central School District approved the proposed 2026-27 budget of $35,569,077 by a vote of 120-14.
Three seats were up for the Board of Education. Incumbents Amanda Finch (115 votes), Jason Miller (115 votes), and Justin Poss (115 votes) were reelected.
“I want to once again thank the Sidney Central District community for your continued support of our school and students,” Sidney CSD Superintendent Eben Bullock said. “We appreciate the confidence you show to our district, teachers, and students. This budget allows us to maintain our programs, giving our students many opportunities and pathways to succeed.”
Voters also passed a bus proposition, which allows the district to purchase two diesel buses at a cost not to exceed $347,500 from the Capital Bus Reserve Fund. That proposition passed 118-16.
Finally, voters also approved the budget for the Sidney Memorial Public Library, passing it with a vote of 126-9. One member, David Green, was elected to the board with 121 votes. The library budget is mandated by law to be on the budget, but is not part of the district budget.
