Students gathered around the shared tables, passed food to one another, and enjoyed a meal focused on togetherness, kindness, and community.
To the UPK team, it was more than just a lunch – it was a moment to slow down, connect, and celebrate the joy our littlest learners bring to school each day.
“Life is so busy, especially in UPK land,” teacher Mrs. Dickey said. “We forget to appreciate what matters. We were able to take time this week to reflect and discuss all the good in our lives. We are thankful!”
Mrs. Finch said “Thanksgiving is a time to give, a time to love, and a time to reflect on things in life that matter most.”
Such great work from the staff and UPK kids for creating such a meaningful experience, one filled with gratitude, friendship, and the spirit of the season.

During the event, students from area middle and high schools had the opportunity to meet culinary students, as well as try both sweet and savory dishes featuring local, in-season fruits, grains, and vegetables. Students were also able to tour the kitchens and talk with Chef Smith about the Hospitality Program at SUNY Delhi.
An excellent learning opportunity!

The Sidney Central School District takes pride in providing safe travel for its students via district transportation. The district recently purchased new and upgraded SnapOn tools for district mechanics Jim Button and Mark Hotaling, ensuring the duo continues to have all necessary tools to keep our fleet running top notch!
“My 14 years of experience as a mechanic taught me that equipping our team with the right tools for each task ensures efficiency, safety, and consistent quality,” said Sidney CSD Transportation Supervisor Brian Knapp.
Keep up the great work, Jim and Mark!

As we gear up for the second session of our after-school program, we've run into a good problem -- students don't want to leave!
We’ve noticed that swimming and cooking have become two of our most popular activities, and many students are asking to stay when families arrive for pick-up.
To help families plan ahead, we’ve included the swimming and cooking schedules by grade level. We hope this helps make pick-up a little easier—and gives your child a chance to enjoy more of what they love!
Session 2 begins Monday, November 10!
