Tax collection changes: 2019

Sidney CSD changes in tax collection 2019

Effective September 1, 2019, there will be a change in how school tax bills are collected.

NBT Bank will no longer be collecting school taxes.

If you are mailing your check in for payment, checks should be made payable to Sidney Central School District and can be mailed to the following:

Sidney Central School District
Attn: Tax Collector
95 West Main Street
Sidney, NY   13838

Please make sure checks are made out for the exact amount on the bill – no rounding up! The amount written on the check should equal the amount written out on the check, i.e. $1,564.52 must be written as One thousand five hundred sixty four and 52/XX. If they do not match, we will have to mail back to you for correction, which could cause a late fee depending on the date due.
The district will also have walk-in hours at the school.

Signs will direct people to where the taxes can be paid. A drop box will also be available if you want to drop off payment during regular business hours (8 a.m.-4 p.m.), and a receipt will be mailed to you.

If you need an immediate receipt, walk-in hours are as follows during the tax collection season:
  • Mondays: 4-6 p.m.
  • Fridays: 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
There will also be one Saturday per month, prior to the penalty. Those dates are as follows:
  • September 28, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • October 26, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • November 2, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Sidney CSD at 607-561-7700.
