David Gannon signs letter of intent with Harwick College. Senior signs letter of intent with Hartwick College
On Tuesday, Sidney CSD senior David Gannon signed his letter of intent to play football at Hartwick College this fall. Good luck, David!

Winter MAC scholar athletes 2019 Five winter teams earn scholar-athlete honors
Five Sidney Central School District teams were honored as scholar-athlete teams by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association for the winter sports season.

To be recognized as a team, 75 percent or more of the team members must be at or above 90 percent and the overall team GPA had to be at or above 90 percent.

The teams recognized were girls indoor track (94.2), girls basketball (93.5), girls bowling (91.4), boys basketball (90.9), and boys indoor track (90.8).
 
Traffic Flow Traffic flow update for after school
As the transition from the winter to spring athletic seasons begins, there are many more student-athletes outside of buildings and utilizing the athletic fields. With this in mind, the Sidney Central School District is asking our community be receptive to requests with traffic flow around the Sidney CSD campus. 
 
With the after-school enrichment program dismissing at approximately 5:15 p.m. daily, there are many young students boarding buses between the elementary and junior/senior high buildings. 
 
The district will now keep the gates to the parking lot between the elementary and junior/senior high buildings down until 5:15 p.m.
 
Sidney boys bowling at states Sidney boys bowling finish third at states
The Sidney boys bowling team, playing in their first New York State Public High School (NYSPHSAA) state tournament, placed third on Sunday. 
Sidney finished with a 5,766 over six games at AMF Strike ‘N Spare in Syracuse. The Warriors were second following the first three games at the Division II tournament. 
 
Lansinburgh won the 10-team tournament 6,213, followed by Tonawanda with 5,906. 
 
Jacob Ostrander led Sidney with a 206.5 average, including the fifth-highest game of the tournament with a 256 in game three. Ostrander, who placed sixth overall, also rolled games of 239 and 216. Ryan Cole, who placed eighth, had a 200.17 average, with four games above 200, including a high of 244 in game two. 
 
Brandyn Wagner Sidney senior off to states for indoor track
Sidney senior Brandyn Wagner will compete at the New York State Public High School Association indoor track championships this Saturday at the Ocean Breeze Track and Field Complex on Staten Island.  
Sidney all-state football players 2018 Five named to football all-state team for Sidney
Five players for the Sidney CSD football team were name to the New York State Sportswriters Association Class D all-state team. 
 
Junior Liam Matthews earned first-team honors, while junior Cameron Chabot and seniors Ryan Harris and Mike Mazzarella were named to the second team. Senior David Gannon was named honorable mention.
