Winning mattered at a recent Sidney Federal Credit Union volleyball tournament – and the students of the Sidney CSD are benefitting because of it. Entry to the tournament included school supplies. And a basket raffle also raised funds that would be donated to the school district chosen by the winning team. The winning team got to choose a district in which SFCU has a branch. The winning team chose Sidney CSD. On Thursday morning, three SFCU members dropped off the supplies as well as a check for $686.00.

Sidney CSD honored its valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2024 on Wednesday afternoon. The valedictorian is Megan Lewis, and the salutatorian is Elaina Neubert. They were each presented with a certificate and a gift during the celebration event. Each student will also speak at graduation, which is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 29 at the Transportation Center.

Congratulations to Sidney CSD’s Riders of the Year! Each bus driver selects a rider of the year for their bus. Students receive a certificate, a plaque, and a framed photo. They also are invited to a luncheon at the transportation center with their families.

Sidney CSD senior Megan Lewis and high school teacher Christine Race were honored for Sidney for the 2024 Scholar Recognition program. The program honors students and teachers from schools in the DCMO BOCES and ONC BOCES districts. One student from each school is recognized for outstanding scholastic achievement. That student then nominates a teacher who has had a significant and beneficial influence on their education.
