Sidney CSD names valedictorian and salutatorian

Sidney CSD's valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2025Sidney CSD has announced the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2025. The valedictorian is Camille Bagley, and the salutatorian is Aidan Moodley.

The Sidney Central School District has named its valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2025. 

The valedictorian is Camille Bagley, and the salutatorian is Aidan Moodley. 

The two will speak during the annual graduation ceremony on June 28.

Valedictorian
A well-rounded student, Camille Bagley has excelled in and out of the classroom. 

Academically, she’s been on the Superintendent’s list each quarter from grades 7-12, and has earned awards for academic excellence and achievement. Those awards include the Clarkson University High School Achievement Award, Keuka College George H. Ball Community Achievement Award, multiple outstanding achievement awards, and a scholar athlete during all of her varsity seasons, which included the MAC scholar-athlete award for girls winter track her junior season. 

Outside of the classroom, Bagley has served as the Class of 2025 treasurer since her sophomore year, and is also the National Honor Society vice president. She’s also the treasurer for the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Other activities in which she’s involved include being a leadership fellow in the Sidney CSD Alumni Association and a member of Interact.

Musically, Bagley plays the euphonium for concert band and the piano for the jazz ensemble. She also took part in the Hartwick College Jazz Ensemble in grades 9-11, and is part of the Sidney community band. 

On the fields, Bagley has been a starting defender on the girls soccer team for five seasons, and takes part in indoor and outdoor track and field. She’s the school record holder for the weight throw in winter track, and won the Section Four Division II championship in the shot put. In outdoor, she takes part in the discus and shot put, an event in which she earned the MAC championship her junior year. 

After graduation, she plans to attend Quinnipiac University to pursue a degree in diagnostic medical sonography. She is the daughter of Jeff and Brenda Bagley. 

Salutatorian 
Aidan Moodley is extremely active within the Sidney CSD community, thriving in the classroom, as well as within clubs and sports. 

A regular on the district’s Superintendent’s List, he has also been a scholar athlete and has received numerous awards, including the Rensselaer Medalist Award, Clarkson Leadership Award, Rochester Institute of Technology Computing Award, and the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award. He was also a recipient of the Shirley A. Ford Mathematics Award and is Sidney CSD’s Scholar Recognition recipient for 2025, and was a Boys State attendee.

Throughout his years, Moodley has played the alto and tenor saxophone and has been part of the band, chorus, jazz band, and select choir. He’s attended numerous All-County groups, All-State choirs, and honor bands. He also played in the Hartwick College Jazz Ensemble for two semesters, and has been part of the Sidney Community Band for five years. 

Moodley has participated in three varsity sports (cross country, indoor track and field, and outdoor track and field) for four years. He has also been part of the boys volleyball team, and the badminton and table tennis teams. 

Outside of the classroom, he’s been involved with numerous clubs at Sidney, including as a member of student council, including two years in the executive student council, where he has served as president his senior year. He was also class president as a freshman and sophomore. 

He’s a member of the National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society (vice president), and Interact (president). Moodley has also served as an intern for the SUNY Oneonta Biological Field Station, completing research projects and having published papers. He has been part of Sidney’s Flood Monitoring Program and the Science Olympiad. 

Outside of school. Moodley has worked as a lifeguard at the Otego and Franklin town pools. 

Following high school, Moodley plans to attend Cornell University and major in environmental engineering. He is the son of Nathan and Audra Moodley.
