Twelve Sidney CSD students recently received the Shirley A. Ford for Dedication and Academic Excellence in Learning and Mathematics

The award is a gift from Sidney alum Aravinthan D.T. Samuel (Class of 1989), who is a professor in the Department of Physics at Harvard University.

Ford was a teacher at Sidney and took Samuel under her wing. In his letter to the student selections, he said she encouraged him to work hard, think deeply, to be humble about his accomplishments, and to be generous with his rewards.

Students were selected by their math teachers, and ranged from grades 9-12.

Congratulations to the students for this wonderful award!
